Another season has started!

And for once, we are ready before the birds are!

This year we are ahead of schedule and have got both Box1 and Box2 ready early in November in case any birds decide to start roosting overnight.  We have also added a layer of wood shavings as recommended by the RSPB.

Both our BoxWatch bird boxes have new roofs this year.  After 7 years being out in all weathers, both roofs needed a makeover.  However, the people at BoxWatch were able to supply me with a couple of replacements.  Here are the new look Box1 and Box2 respectively.

We have also renamed the Bigg Bird Box Box3 and given it an outside camera.  We sorely missed being able to take pictures of the box's visitors from the outside as these can produce fascinating shots of them landing or taking off.  One such image is shown on the left.
